Beware the Halo Effect

The Health Halo effect - —a psychological phenomenon where it can be easily inferred by a consumer that one good quality makes a food product universally beneficial, even when it isn’t. Example--the non-GMO Project Verified label. It indicates that a product is free of genetically modified organisms (GMOs) and that its ingredients are not derived from crops or animals that have been genetically engineered.
